The Croydon Childminding Association was formally launched in March 1995. However a lot of informal work via the Childminder support group meetings was already happening at this time, including a successful befriending scheme for new childminders. The aims of the association have not changed in the 11 or more years it has been running (please see CCMA Mission Statement at the bottom of this page).
We are a group of volunteer childminders who spend some of our spare time supporting other childminders or promoting childminding to parents.

Hi,
My name is Janet Jackson and I have just taken on the role of CCMA Chair. I have been childminding for nearly 6 years now and have been involved with the CCMA for the past couple of years. I live in Sanderstead with my two sons, my black Labrador and my extended family, aged between 1 and 6.
I enjoy the challenge of meeting the needs of all my charges, particularly since the EYFS came into play! As you all know childminding is extremely hard work but so very rewarding, which is why we all do it.
Our CCMA meetings are held centrally at Leon House for easy access to everyone, are
kept to a minimum number in the year (about 6) and I believe in keeping to the point
and being as succinct as possible. My Committee members and I feel that it is important
to continually positively promote childminding as a quality childcare option and
to support our local members. We all have busy lives, but if you would like to
get involved we are always looking for proactive new members prepared to get involved
and donate a little of their time. Don’t forget to also look out for the Meet-
I look forward to meeting you,
Janet
